His mortal remains arrived at Dum Dum in Kolkata, will be brought to Mumbai and will reach the city at 7.30 pm today, June 1, 2022.
Earlier in the day, he was honoured with a gun salute at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata in the presence of his family members and the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
If reports are to be believed, it was earlier scheduled to take place at the airport, but the CM informed netizens of the change online, as the postmortem was still ongoing. Several visuals from the gun salute surfaced online.
Moreover, tributes flew in from every industry in the country, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cricketer Virat Kohli, Bollywood actors, singers, and directors and even fans offered their condolences.
For those unversed, on Tuesday night, May 31, playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK’s sudden demise took place. The singer reportedly performed at a concert in south Kolkata organized by Gurudas College at Nazrul Mancha in the evening for nearly an hour.
According to accounts, he, however, complained of feeling heavy after he reached his hotel and then collapsed. Following this, at nearly 10 pm he was taken to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. However, his death has been proclaimed as unnatural.
