IPL 2022: MI Fail To Turn The Tides In Their Favour Against SRH

On Tuesday, May 17, Mumbai Indians (MI) played against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 65th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. In the game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, MI won the toss and decided to bowl.

In the first innings, SRH scored 193 at a loss of six wickets. Rahul Tripathi was the top scorer for the SRH with 76 runs from 44 balls. Similarly, Priyam Garg, the opener hit a 42 from just 26 deliveries. Nicholas Pooran too managed to get 38 from 22 balls.

From the MI camp, bowler Ramandeep Singh shone by securing three wickets for 20 runs in just three overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith and Daniel Sams got a wicket each.

When the MI batters came to the field, the game commenced with fireworks. Both openers, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan came guns blazing. However, it was disappointing for the fans to see captain Sharma getting out for 48 in 36 balls. Kishan’s wicket then came in quick succession, he too, got a 43 in 34 balls.

With wickets falling, all hopes were then pinned on David, who hit a tremendous knock of 46 from 18 balls. Following his wicket, all hope seemed to be lost for MI. For the SRH it was bowler Umran Malik with the highest number of wickets at 3

Things took a turn for the worst for MI, when Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a maiden wicket 18th over.

While MI’s Ramandeep Singh played a phenomenal 14 from 6 it was not enough for the team. SRH won the game by 3 runs.
