IPL 2022: “Score Could’ve Been Chased,” says Sharma as MI Lose Its 2nd Game Of The Season

It was a familiar start for Mumbai Indians, as they lost their first and second matches of this season too as Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) took on Rohit Sharma‘s Mumbai Indians (MI) at the DY Patil Sports Academy today, April 2.

On the contrary, Rajasthan Royals had a perfect beginning, with the captain Sanju Samson raking in a half-century, just like usually he does in the first game of the season. With this, Rajasthan Royals move on top of the IPL 2022 points table after a two solid wins in their first two games of the season

However, if five IPL titles are anything to go by, the defending champions should be alright. Moreover, the young talent Ishan Kishan joins the elite list of IPL openers to clock up 5 back-to-back 50+ scores in the league. Kishan also adds another victory to his hat as he is currently the orange cap holder.

The Man Of The Match award has been handed over to Jos Buttler!

MI Skipper Rohit Sharma said: “I thought 193 on that pitch could’ve been chased, especially when we needed 70 in 7 overs. But these things can happen and its early days. We can learn from it. Tilak played exceptionally well and Ishan batted well too. If one of those two could’ve batted till the end, things would’ve been different for us.”

Meanwhile, both the young batters – Kishan (23) and Tilak Varma (19) notched up their respective fifties but failed to carry on. Though, they lost the game when, David and Sams lost their wicket in one over against Chahal and after that it was too much for Pollard to do all by himself.
