Mumbai – ‘ That moment is the most precious one, when one’s life is saved owing to immediate medical vigilance. In such cases, the role of an ambulance is of paramount importance’, says Rotary District 3141 Governor Dr. Rajendra Agrawal. He was addressing a program organized by the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sea Coast, in which Rotary donated a new Ambulance to the Mumbai University.
The back story about this Ambulance given to Mumbai University to its students and staff for Kalina and Vakola campuses is that the University communicated their need to the Rotary Club for its medical center. As soon as the information was received by senior Rotarian Jayanti Parmar, the office bearers and other top members of the organization saw the importance of the health of students and staff of the University and raised funds for the Ambulance. All the formalities were duly completed and a new Ambulance was presented to Mumbai University.
This project of Rotary, an organization engaged in social-educational-creative work at international level for the poor, needy and destitute people, was completed and in the program Dr. Rajendra Agrawal handed over the key of the Ambulance to the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Mr. Ravindra D. Kulkarni. On this occasion, Registrar of the University Sudhir Puranik and other staff & along with District Secretary of Rotary Dr. Krishnakumar, President of Sea Coast Club Sudhir Seth, Secretary Sampath K. Iyengar, Deepak Killawala, Ashok Mehra, Rajiv Tikka, Kishore Masurkar, Ashok Kothari, Vipin Reshammiya and other dignitaries were present.
